Washington Sundar ruled out of T20I series

India’s star all-rounder, Washington Sundar, has been ruled out of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand due to a side strain. The series is scheduled to begin in Nagpur on January 21st. Sundar experienced discomfort in his lower left rib while bowling during the first ODI against New Zealand. He was subsequently ruled out of the three-match ODI series. Now, after a medical examination, it’s clear that he won’t be fit in time for the T20I series.

A BCCI official told PTI that Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the T20I series against New Zealand due to a side strain. Washington’s injury has now raised questions about his availability for the T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7. The Indian team management is closely monitoring his fitness.

Team India is grappling with a slew of injuries ahead of the World Cup. These injuries are becoming a growing concern for the Indian team ahead of the home series against New Zealand, especially as the T20 World Cup approaches and the team prepares to finalize its squad.

India’s updated squad for the T20I series against New Zealand: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Tilak Varma (only for the 4th and 5th T20Is), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel (vice-captain), Rinku Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper).
