In fact, many places require a driving license as an ID proof, starting from taking advantage of government schemes. In such a situation, if your original driving license is lost or torn for some reason, then taking a car on the road can be risky for you. In such a situation, you can get a driving license online and offline by following some simple steps.
FIR to be filed
If you lose your driving license, you first have to register an FIR with the police station. If your driving license is old, unclear or torn, then you have to submit the original for a duplicate. After this, to apply for a duplicate driving license online, you first have to go to the website of the state transport department.
Follow these simple steps-
- First, open the website of the transport department.
- Enter the details.
- After this, fill the LLD form.
- Now take a printout of it.
- Add all your required documents with it.
- Now submit that form and all the documents to the RTO office.
- It can also be submitted online.
- The duplicate driving license will reach you after 30 days of completing the online process.
Follow these steps for offline
You can also apply for a duplicate driving license offline. For this, first go to the RTO from which you were issued the original driving license.
Fill the LLD form and submit it.
Also pay the prescribed fee along with this form.
Keep the receipt in hand
You will get a receipt after the online process to get a duplicate driving license. Keep it safe. Because you will need it when the duplicate DL arrives. Or if the duplicate DL arrives late, then you can verify the information about your DL from that receipt.
