LPG Price Update: According to the prices released by Indian Oil from January 1, 2026, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased sharply across the country. In the capital Delhi, where this cylinder was previously available for ₹1580.50, its price has now increased to ₹1691.50. In Kolkata, the price of the same cylinder has increased from ₹1684 to ₹1795. In Mumbai, its price has increased from ₹1531.50 to ₹1642.50, while in Chennai, consumers will now have to pay ₹1849.50. This increase is likely to have a direct impact on the hotel, restaurant, and catering sectors.

Relief in Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices
Despite the increase in commercial gas prices, there is news of relief for domestic LPG cylinder consumers. There has been no change in the price of a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder. According to the latest data from Indian Oil, a domestic cylinder is available in Delhi for ₹853, in Mumbai for ₹852.50, and in Lucknow for ₹890.50. In Patna, the price remains at ₹951. Prices are relatively higher in hilly and border areas like Kargil and Pulwama, but rates have been kept stable there as well.

Relief from ATF Price Reduction
Aircraft fuel (ATF) prices have been reduced for the New Year. In Delhi, ATF prices have been reduced by 7.3 percent to ₹92,323.02 per kiloliter. Previously, ATF prices had risen for three consecutive months. Prices increased by more than 5 percent in December, while increases were also recorded in October and November. Consequently, the January reduction is being considered a major relief for aviation companies.

Commercial cylinder prices fell several times in 2025
Regarding last year, 2025 brought considerable relief to commercial LPG consumers. The price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder decreased a total of 10 times throughout the year. The biggest reductions were seen in July, September, and April. In Delhi, the price of a commercial cylinder, which started the year at ₹1818.50, had fallen to ₹1580.50 by the end of December. However, slight increases were also recorded in March and October.

Impact of overall city-wise changes

During the past 12 months, commercial LPG cylinder prices in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai declined by an average of ₹238 per cylinder. This provided some relief to the hotel and food industries. However, the latest increase in January 2026 has again increased concerns among businesses.
