The final Test match of The Ashes 2025-26 will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia’s team has been announced for this match, which begins on January 4th.
Australia lost a match after winning three matches in a row to claim another Ashes trophy
Coming off a defeat in their previous match, Australia will be looking to make a comeback in this match. Captain Steve Smith will also be under immense pressure in this match. Having already won the series, Australia will be making every effort to win the series 4-1.

Australia will miss Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon. All three are match-winning players. Consequently, the Australian team appears a bit weak. Captain Steve Smith will need to perform brilliantly with the bat in this match. Therefore, Todd Murphy’s inclusion in the playing XI as a spinner seems almost certain. Scott Boland, Mitchell Starc, and Michael Neser will be the three fast bowlers. Only one of Beau Webster and Cameron Green will be able to secure a spot.
The batting responsibilities will now shift to Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne. All three players will need to play big innings to help Australia post a big total in this match. The team lost the fourth Test due to poor batting. Therefore, the batsmen will need to perform better in the final Test.
