RailOne App: With the start of the new year, Indian Railways has given millions of train passengers a significant gift. If you frequently travel on general or unreserved tickets, your pockets will now be less burdened. To promote Digital India, the Railways has announced a direct discount on ticket bookings starting January 14, 2026. This will not be a cashback, but a flat discount on the base fare. Now, there will be savings on every journey

The Railways has decided to offer a flat 3 percent discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app. This special offer will be effective from January 14 until July 14, 2026. The biggest news is that you no longer need to rely on a specific wallet to avail the discount. Until now, cashback was only available for using R-Wallet, but under the new rules, you can now avail a direct ticket price reduction using any digital payment mode like UPI, debit card, or credit card.

This significant move by the Railways has been taken to reduce long queues at stations and to encourage people to embrace mobile booking. Officials have clarified that this 3% direct discount will be available only on the RailOne app and will not be available on any other website or third-party platform.

Process to book tickets with the RailOne app

If you’re using this app for the first time, follow the steps below to ensure your significant savings:

  • First, download the RailOne app on your smartphone and log in with your IRCTC or UTS ID.
  • From the home screen, click on the ‘Unreserved Ticket’ or ‘UTS’ option.
  • Select your starting station and destination station.
  • Select the number of passengers and class, and double-check all the required information.
  • Tap ‘Book Ticket’ and choose UPI or card as payment options. Once you make the payment, you will see the final amount with a 3% discount applied.
  • Once the booking is successful, a digital ticket with a QR code will be generated on your screen, valid for the entire journey.
