PM Kisan New Rule: If you are a farmer and are benefiting from the PM Kisan scheme, this news could be very important for you. A major change has been made to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. A unique Farmer ID has now been made mandatory for every farmer in the country. This means that if you do not have a unique Farmer ID, you will not be able to avail the benefits of the PM Kisan scheme.

What is a Farmer ID and its benefits?

A Farmer ID is the digital identity of a farmer. It contains information related to the farmer’s land, crops, fertilisers, animal husbandry, and income. This ID is used to receive benefits under the PM Kisan scheme.

It has several benefits. It ensures that fertilisers and subsidies are provided in the correct quantity, brings transparency to crop insurance, and prevents fraudulent farmer registrations.

Documents required to obtain a Farmer ID

Some documents are required to create a Farmer ID. These include Aadhaar card, Aadhaar-linked mobile number, land documents, and Family ID or ration card. Camps are also being organised at the panchayat level as per government instructions, where farmers can easily get their IDs made.

How to create an online User ID

Go to your state’s AgriStack Portal and click on “Create New User”. Enter your Aadhaar number and complete the KYC process. Read and agree to the terms and conditions and submit the form. Verify with the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Then enter your mobile number, confirm the OTP, and create a new password. This way, your User ID and password will be created.

Registration process for Farmer ID

Log in to the portal using your User ID and password. You can also log in using OTP. After logging in, fill in all the account details. Select “Owner” in Farmer Type and click on “Fetch Land Detail”. Fill in the Khasra number and land-related information.

If you have more than one field, enter the information for all of them. After verification, open the “Social Registry” tab and fill in the details of your Family ID or ration card. Then select “Revenue Department” in Department Approval. Finally, tick the Consent box and digitally sign.
