After BCCI, the England and Wales Cricket Board has announced their full squad for the T20 World Cup 2026. Surprisingly, one of their star performers, who is known for hard hitting batting, did not find a place in the squad. In IPL 2026, the allrounder will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

England has announced its team for the T20 World Cup, 2026. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not given a place to all-rounder Liam Livingstone in the 15-member squad. However, uncapped fast bowler Josh Tongue has got a chance. The team is led by explosive batsman Harry Brook. Livingstone’s non-selection in the team is surprising because he was showered with a lot of money in the recently held IPL 2026 mini auction.

Livingstone was bought by SRH for Rs 13 crore from the IPL 2025 auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Livingstone at the auction for a whopping ₹13 crore. Last season, Livingstone was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RCB won the 2025 IPL title, but Livingstone’s individual performance was not particularly impressive. He scored just 112 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 133.33, including a half-century. He bowled nine overs and took two wickets at an economy rate of 8.44.

In place of Livingstone, the England selectors have given youngsters like Will Jacks and Jack Bethell a chance this time around. Furthermore, Livingstone’s role in the team has been unclear for some time. He has sometimes batted lower down the order, sometimes higher up the order. As a result, he has lost his old rhythm and has been unable to cement his place in the team.
