India’s superstar batsman Smriti Mandhana lacked her rhythm in the first three T20 matches against Sri Lanka, but she returned to form in the fourth match and played a strong game. She batted explosively from the moment she entered the field. The Sri Lankan bowlers had no answer to her batting. Mandhana scored a powerful half-century in the match and was awarded the Player of the Match for leading her team to victory. India won the match by 30 runs.

Smriti Mandhana scored a total of 80 runs in 48 balls in the match. During this innings, she hit 11 fours and three sixes. While trying to play a big stroke off the ball of Sri Lankan bowler Malsha Shehani, she was caught by Imesha Dulani. With this, she broke her own record of scoring the most runs in a calendar year in women’s international cricket. Mandhana has scored 1703 runs in international cricket in the year 2025.

She is the first female player to score more than 1,700 runs in a single year. No other female player had achieved this feat before. She had previously scored a total of 1,659 runs in international cricket in 2024. Now, she has surpassed this record.
Smriti Mandhana has performed exceptionally well for the Indian team in 2025 and was a member of the team that won the 2025 ODI World Cup. She has scored a total of 1,362 runs in 23 ODIs in 2025, including five centuries and five half-centuries. In addition, she has scored a total of 341 runs in nine T20I matches in 2025, taking her total to 1,703 runs this year.
