Sourav Ganguly’s career as a coach in the SA20 League began on a losing note. His team, Pretoria Capitals, suffered a 22-run defeat at the hands of the Joburg Super Kings. In the match played on December 27th, Joburg Super Kings, batting first, scored 168 runs in their allotted 20 overs, while the Capitals could only manage 146. Duane Janssen, brother of South African all-rounder Marco Janssen, wreaked havoc with the ball, taking four wickets.
Bowlers made the match more exciting this time

Apart from openers Will Smeed and Bryce Parsons, no other Capitals batsman could score a significant innings. Smeed scored 34, and Parsons scored 41. At one point, the Capitals had scored 71 runs without losing a wicket. However, while scoring the next 71 runs, they lost nine wickets and lost the match by 22 runs.

Duane Janssen, brother of South African all-rounder Marco Janssen, bowled lethally for the Joburg Super Kings, conceding just 23 runs in his four overs and taking four wickets. Wiaan Mulder also shone for the Super Kings, conceding just 22 runs in his four overs and keeping the Capitals’ run rate under control. He also took one wicket.
Many prominent star players flopped in this match. Joburg Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis managed just 2 runs, while fast bowler Lungi Ngidi conceded runs at an economy rate of over 10.

Six teams participate in this league, all owned by IPL teams.
