The auction process for IPL 2026 was held in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday in which the uncapped players were seen in full swing. This time Australian all-rounder Cameron Green emerged as the most expensive player in the auction. Green was bought by KKR for Rs 25.20 crore, making him the most expensive foreign player in IPL history.

However, more than Cameron Green, Prashant Veer, a resident of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, is in the news. Prashant Veer will now be seen playing for Dhoni’s CSK team in the IPL. CSK has bought Prashant for Rs 14.20 crore. Prashant Veer registered himself in the 30 lakh rupees category for the IPL 2026 auction. When the bidding process began, there was a fierce competition to include him in their team. LSG was the first to bid 30 lakh rupees.

MI then bid 35 lakh rupees, LSG 40 lakh rupees, and then MI 45 lakh rupees. When LSG reached 1.20 crore rupees, CSK entered the fray. CSK started at 1.30 crore rupees for Prashant. LSG placed the final bid for Prashant at 4 crore rupees.

Rajasthan Royals entered with a bid of 4.40 crore rupees, while RR placed a final bid of 6.40 crore rupees for Prashanth. CSK remained firm. Meanwhile, SRH entered the fray. A fierce battle ensued between CSK and SRH for Prashanth Veer. SRH placed a final bid of 14 crore rupees. CSK finally added Prashanth to their team for 14.20 crore rupees.

Prashant Veer is a left-arm spinner and bats left-handed. In nine domestic T20 matches so far, Prashant has scored 112 runs at a strike rate of 167.16 and taken 12 wickets. CSK is considering Prashant as a replacement for Jadeja.
