EPFO Update – PF employees are expected to receive a big gift in the first month of the new year. It is hoped that the interest rate for PF employees will be announced, which is sure to bring good fortune to everyone. The central government may finalise the interest rate for the financial year 2025-2026, which will prove to be good news.
The government is considering offering an interest rate of approximately 8.50 per cent this time. This rate will be 0.25 per cent higher than last year. The central government had offered only 8.2 per cent interest last year. Since then, employees have been waiting for the interest rate for the next financial year. This may be finalised in the meeting of the Central Board of Trustees in January. No one has officially said anything yet.

How much money can come into the PF account?
The Central Board of Trustees of EPFO may finalise the interest rate for PF employees in its meeting. This will benefit approximately 8 crore employees. There is a possibility of receiving 8.25 per cent interest. The question arises as to how much money will come into the employees’ PF accounts.
For example, if an employee has Rs. 6 lakh deposited in their PF account, then they can receive approximately Rs. 50,000 as interest. Similarly, if an employee has Rs. 5 lakh in their PF account, they can receive approximately Rs. 41,500. Checking the PF balance is easy and hassle-free. EPFO has established several rules and regulations for checking PF balances.

How to check PF balance?
You can easily check your PF balance in your PF account without any trouble. A simple way to check your PF balance is through a missed call.
First, you need to give a missed call from your registered mobile number to 9966044425. The call will automatically disconnect, and you will receive your balance information via SMS.
Check balance via SM.S.
You can also check your PF balance via SMS. To do this, you first need to send an SMS to 7738299899 with your registration number.
Then, in the SMS, type: EPFOHO <UAN> <language code> (for example, EPFOHO UAN HIN for Hindi or EPFOHO UAN ENG for English).
You will then receive details of your PF balance and last contribution via SMS.
