Winter School Holidays 2025: School studies across the country are being affected by various factors. Schools from nursery to 5th grade have been closed in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad due to air pollution. In Bihar, school hours have been adjusted due to cold weather. Long winter holidays are about to begin in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, students will receive extra holidays even before the winter break. There will be no classes for three consecutive days before the winter holidays. This decision has been taken due to a teacher’s conference being held in the state.

Holidays in Rajasthan Schools:
The Education Department is organising a state-level education conference on December 19th and 20th. Teachers from across the state will participate in this conference on these two days. As a result, regular classes will not be held in schools, and students will be given a holiday.

Punjab Schools Closed:
The Punjab government has declared winter holidays for schools amid rising temperatures and a cold wave. According to a government notice issued on Monday, all schools in the state will be closed from December 24th to December 31st. These schools include all government, private, aided, and recognised schools. The orders issued by the School Education Secretary state that this decision was made with the cold weather in mind.

UP Schools Winter Vacation:
The cold and cold wave have begun in North India. The long winter holidays are about to start in schools across Uttar Pradesh. According to the academic calendar, winter holidays in UP schools will be from December 20th to December 31st, 2025.

Delhi Schools Closed:

Due to the ‘dangerous’ air pollution in Delhi, GRAP-IV restrictions are in effect. Schools from nursery through 5th grade have been closed to protect schoolchildren. Offline classes for these grades will remain suspended until further notice; only online courses will continue. Due to rising air pollution, GRAP-IV restrictions have been implemented in Delhi to improve air quality. Under these restrictions, schools from nursery to 5th grade have been closed with immediate effect. In contrast, classes from 6th to 9th and 11th grade will operate in a ‘hybrid’ mode, with classes conducted online or offline depending on the air quality.

Bihar School Closed:
Due to the cold wave, the Patna district administration has changed school timings. According to the new timetable, schools will now operate from 9:30 AM to 4 PM. A prayer assembly will be held from 9:30 AM to 10 AM, followed by eight periods, and a 40-minute mid-day break from 12 PM to 12:40 PM.
