The Yamaha EC-06 is targeted at young and tech-savvy riders. The scooter is based on River EV, an Indian EV brand in which Yamaha has invested. The new EC-06 blends Yamaha’s performance DNA with clean, futuristic design and practical functionality, making it a smart and stylish electric commuter for the modern urban lifestyle. Its sleek and futuristic silhouette reflects the brand’s “Ride Easy for Active Lifestyle” design concept. Its high-centered gravity setup enhances agility and maneuverability in crowded traffic, while the horizontal core design ensures balance and stability.

Performance and Powertrain

At the heart of the EC-06 is a 4.5 kW electric motor delivering 6.7 kW of peak power, paired with a 4 kWh high-capacity fixed battery. This combination provides instant torque and seamless acceleration, making it perfect for city riding and short stretches of highway. The scooter has a certified range of 160 km on a full charge, one of the highest real-world ranges in its class. Three riding modes – Eco, Standard, and Power – allow riders to tailor performance to their needs. Additionally, a reverse mode adds convenience in tight urban spaces. Charging is straightforward with a standard home plug-in charger, with a full charge taking approximately 9 hours.

Yamaha has equipped the EC-06 with several features to enhance both convenience and safety. These include front and rear disc brakes, a full LED lighting setup, and a color LCD display for key ride data. A SIM-based telematics unit enables real-time connectivity and remote access via a dedicated app. It also features a 24.5-liter under-seat storage capacity for everyday practicality. Most importantly, the EC-06 offers seamless integration with Yamaha’s connected ecosystem, allowing riders to digitally monitor vehicle data, charging status, and maintenance schedules.
