Concept in India

The concept model of the F 450 GS was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in India earlier this year. After that, spy shots of its production model surfaced on the internet on several occasions, revealing many details about the bike. Most importantly, it will be powered by a brand new 450cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that develops 48bhp and has been developed in collaboration with TVS. This partnership is like an experienced guru and his talented disciple – where the unique strengths of both combine to create something special.

Engine and Transmission

The F 450 GS is powered by a 450cc parallel-twin engine that produces 48bhp of power. Besides the manual gearbox option, it is also speculated to come with a semi-automatic gearbox option, which will make riding the bike easier in the city. This engine is like an experienced guide – instilling confidence in you on every kind of road.

Chassis and Suspension

The motorcycle uses a new lightweight chassis that claims to offer great agility and nimbleness in its handling package, while also adding strength and rigidity to withstand the demands of off-road riding. However, with 19/17-inch alloy wheels, it won’t be a completely off-road-centric motorcycle. The suspension setup includes upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. A higher-spec variant with adjustable suspension may also be offered.

Features and Technology

Feature-wise, the F 450 GS concept gets all-LED lighting, multiple ride modes, cornering ABS, traction control, and a 6.5-inch TFT dash, all of which are expected to be retained on the production model. These features act like a smart command center – allowing you to control everything and be prepared for every situation.

Competition

Once launched in India, the BMW F 450 GS will compete against bikes like the Honda NX500, which is already available, and the Brixton Storr 500 and CFMoto 450 MT, both of which are expected to make their India debut in the coming months. This competition will prove highly beneficial for the Indian adventure bike market as customers will get better options and competitive pricing.
