Maruti Fronx updated Version
Maruti plans two major changes to make Fronx more smart and future-ready – first Strong hybrid system and second ADAS feature. Let me tell you that hybrid system will improve both mileage and performance of the car.
ADAS technology will make driving more safe. It can get features like Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, which till now is seen only in premium SUVs.
Hybrid System
Maruti Suzuki is now slowly working towards incorporating in-house developed hybrid systems across its entire car range. The company’s technology is based on the new 48V Super Ene-Charge (SEC) Hybrid System of Japanese partner Suzuki Motor Corporation.
Let me tell you, this system is specially designed for light and inexpensive cars to provide better mileage and lower fuel consumption without increasing the price. According to reports, this hybrid technology will prove to be more fuel-efficient and economical than Toyota’s Atkinson-cycle engine.
Fronx Hybrid Engine
The new Fronx Hybrid is likely to get a 1.0-liter to 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, which will be connected to the hybrid system, if the engine talks. This will increase the fuel efficiency of the SUV, as well as the driving experience.
The company plans to provide the same hybrid powertrain later in 2026 in New Baleno, New Swift in 2027 and Brezza in 2029. This would gradually make Maruti’s entire lineup green and fuel-efficient.

Competition
Maruti Suzuki does not want to be limited to Fronx. The company is also soon working on a new Sub-4 Meter MPV, which will compete with the Renault Triber and the upcoming Nissan MPV. It will be based on the MPV Japan-spec Spacia Platform and will be given the HEV Hybrid System of Maruti.
