WhatsApp’s New Feature
Users will now notice an alert if they share their screen with an unfamiliar caller on WhatsApp while they are on a video call. Since scammers frequently use video calls to target victims, this capability may be very useful in situations of digital arrests and scams.
The company is also creating a scam detection application for Messenger that uses AI. This enables users to send in their conversations with new connections for evaluation by AI. Users will be notified with the necessary safety precautions and instructions if any dangers are found.
All Meta platforms now allow passkeys.
Meta has implemented Passkey support on all of its platforms, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger, in consideration of customer privacy and safety. Device-level authentication, like fingerprint or face verification, can be used by users to log in. Users are advised by Meta to utilize Privacy Checkup on WhatsApp and Security Checkup on Facebook and Instagram.
Meta and the government will work together to start a campaign.

Through video content, this campaign will teach people—especially senior citizens—how to spot and steer clear of scammers.
