A very good news for employees across the country. The government has made some significant decisions which will benefit the employees. The announcements are not less than a Diwali 2025 gift.
The arrival of the festive season in India which brings smiles to the faces of employees. This time, the central government has given millions of employees and pensioners a significant gift ahead of Diwali. The government has made three major announcements: an increase in dearness allowance (DA), the payment of bonuses, and improvements to the CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme).
In this vein, the postal department has also given its employees a wonderful Diwali gift. The Post Office has approved the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the financial year 2024-25. This approval was issued after the President’s assent. Under this scheme, employees will receive a bonus equivalent to 60 days’ salary.
This bonus will be given to Group C employees, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Non-Gazetted Group B employees, Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), and full-time casual workers. This move will directly benefit millions of employees and double the festive spirit. This bonus will not only strengthen employees’ financial position but will also increase their enthusiasm and excitement during the festive season. This Diwali, the happiness of postal department employees is truly going to be double delight.
What will be the amount of the bonus
According to media reports, the bonus amount will be calculated based on the employees’ average salary. For regular employees, the formula will be (average salary × 60 days ÷ 30.4). This calculation will include basic pay, dearness allowance, special allowance, duty allowance, and training allowance. The maximum salary limit for the bonus has been set at ₹7,000 per month. For Gramin Dak Sevaks, the bonus amount will be determined based on their Time-Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) and dearness allowance.
