UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has made a major decision regarding Aadhaar updates. Effective October 1, 2025, the fee for updating your Aadhaar card has been increased. Now, if you want to change your name, address, photo, or other information on your Aadhaar card, you’ll have to pay more than before. These new fees will remain in effect until September 30, 2028.

Aadhar Card update price change

Notably, a charge of ₹700 has now been set for home services. Additionally, new charges will apply for biometrics updates, document uploading, and other services. Here, we will explain in detail the fees for each service and who will benefit from these benefits. Aadhaar users will now have to pay ₹125 to update biometric information such as fingerprint, iris scan, or photo. This service previously cost ₹100, meaning they will now have to pay ₹25 more. If you want to update demographic information on your Aadhaar card, such as name, address, date of birth, or mobile number, the fee is now ₹75. Previously, this service cost ₹50. This fee applies only to updating personal information, not biometrics.

What will be the charges

If you need to upload documents for identity or address proof, you can do so for free on the myAadhaar portal, and this facility will remain available until June 14, 2026. However, if you submit your documents at an Aadhaar Service Center, you will have to pay ₹75. UIDAI has also fixed fees for home service. Now, updating your Aadhaar at home will cost ₹700 (including GST). If multiple people use the service at the same address, the first person will have to pay ₹700 and each additional person will have to pay ₹350.

There will be no fee for biometric updates for children (ages 5–7 and 15–17). This means parents will not have to pay anything for their children’s Aadhaar biometric updates.
