Kanya Sumangala Yojana – The central and state governments are implementing various schemes to ensure the education and future of girls. These schemes include schemes such as “Educate the Girl Child” and “Save the Girl Child.” Among these schemes, the Uttar Pradesh government is also running the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana. Under this scheme, girls born in the state are provided financial assistance at various stages for their education, from school to college. Importantly, this assistance is sent directly to the beneficiary’s bank account via DBT, ensuring no difficulties in availing the benefits of this scheme.
What is Kanya Sumangala Yojana?
Under the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, money is provided to daughters in Uttar Pradesh in six different installments. The scheme begins at the birth of the daughter, and the final installment is received when the daughter completes 12th grade and enrolls in a college or diploma course. Initially, the scheme provided Rs 15,000 in aid, but the government has now increased it to Rs 25,000.
How much money is available in this scheme?
Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, a grant of Rs 5,000 is provided upon the birth of a daughter in Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, a grant of Rs 2,000 is provided upon completion of her immunizations within a year. A grant of Rs 3,000 is provided upon admission to first grade. A further Rs 3,000 is provided upon admission to sixth grade. Under this scheme, Rs 5,000 is provided upon admission to ninth grade, and Rs 7,000 upon admission to a college or diploma course after 12th grade. This total sum of Rs 25,000 is provided to a daughter, which can be invested in educational expenses or future plans, if needed.
Who can avail the benefits of this scheme?
Only daughters residing in Uttar Pradesh can benefit from the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana. This scheme covers only those daughters whose family’s annual income is less than 3 lakh rupees. Furthermore, a maximum of two daughters per family will be eligible for this scheme, and if there is already one daughter and twins are born, all three can benefit from this scheme. Adopted daughters are also eligible for this scheme.

- Application for Kanya Sumangala Yojana can be done both online and offline.
- To avail the benefits of this scheme, you have to register by visiting the official website mksy.up.gov.in.
- After this, first of all the first time user has to complete the registration process and create ID and password.
- Then the application can be submitted by filling the required information and uploading the documents.
- After the application is completed, the amount is sent to the beneficiary’s account in installments.
