Bihar DA Hike: Assembly elections are going to be held soon in Bihar. The political temperature is getting heated up. Meanwhile, Nitish government is making rapid announcements before the code of conduct comes into force. Nitish Kumar cabinet approved many important decisions on Friday.

Approving a total of 129 agendas, the Bihar cabinet focused on employees, students, health workers and urban development. In these, a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) of Bihar state employees has been announced. This dearness allowance was earlier 55 percent. Now it has been increased to 58 percent.

This will benefit 4.8 million government employees and 6.8 million pensioners. This government move, just a day before Diwali, will provide some relief to household budgets. The increase will be effective July 1, 2025. This means that arrears for July, August, and September will be paid in October’s salary. A total of 129 proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. This cabinet meeting is considered the final meeting before the election.

The government increased the stipend

The government has also given a big gift to students. The cabinet meeting approved the Education Department’s proposal to double scholarships. This decision will benefit students of all categories. Scholarships will be distributed under the Chief Minister’s Boys and Girls Scheme.

The government has decided that all students from classes 1 to 4 will now receive Rs 1,200 instead of ₹600. Students from classes 5 to 6 will receive Rs 2,400 instead of Rs 1,200. Students in classes 7 and 8 will receive Rs 3,600 instead of Rs 1,800. Students in classes 9 and 10 will also receive Rs 3,600, up from Rs 1,800 previously.
