DA Hike Salary – The central government has increased dearness allowance (DA ) by 3%. The DA has now risen from 55% to 58%. This benefit will benefit 4.8 million government employees and 6.8 million pensioners. This move, coming just a day before Dussehra, will provide some relief to household budgets.
The increase will take effect on July 1, 2025. This means that the arrears for July, August, and September will be included in the October salary. Now the question is, how much will the salaries of peons, clerks, and IAS officers increase?
Whose salary increased by how much?
For an employee with a basic pay of Rs 18,000, the DA will increase from Rs 9,900 to Rs 10,440. Monthly benefit: Rs 540.
Basic Pay Rs 25,600: DA Rs 14,080 to Rs 14,848, monthly increment Rs 768.
Basic Pay Rs 30,600: DA Rs 16,830 to Rs 17,748, benefit of Rs 918 per month.
Basic Pay Rs 35,400: DA Rs 19,470 to Rs 20,532, monthly increase of Rs 1,062.
Basic Pay Rs 39,900: DA Rs 21,945 to Rs 23,142, monthly benefit Rs 1,197.
Basic Pay Rs 44,900: DA Rs 24,695 to Rs 26,042, Rs 1,347 extra per month.
Basic Pay Rs 50,500: DA Rs 27,775 to Rs 29,290, monthly benefit Rs 1,515.
Basic Pay Rs 56,900: DA Rs 31,295 to Rs 33,002, monthly increase of Rs 1,707.
Pensioners will also benefit
The pensions of approximately 6.8 million pensioners will also receive increased DA. This government move is a major relief for employees and pensioners. The salary and pension increases before Diwali will directly benefit them. Whether it’s a peon or an IAS officer, everyone’s pockets will be fuller than before October.
Dearness Allowance (DA) is provided to government employees and pensioners to maintain a better standard of living as inflation rises in the country. Its rates are determined based on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), which is revised twice a year, i.e., every six months.
