What is the new GST slab
The Modi government has approved a new GST slab. Under the new system, vehicles with engines over 1500cc will now be taxed at 40% GST instead of 28%. However, the biggest good news is that the cess tax on these vehicles has been completely removed. Previously, vehicles were taxed at 45-50%, combined with cess and GST. Now, only 40% will be charged, which will reduce vehicle prices.
How much will the price of the Hyundai Creta decrease?
The Hyundai Creta is a compact SUV with an engine of over 1500cc. Previously, it was taxed at approximately 50% (28% GST + 22% cess). Under this new system, it will now be taxed at only 40% GST, reducing the total tax on the vehicle by approximately 10%. This reduction will also directly impact the price.
Massive Discounts on Models and Variants
After the implementation of the new GST slab, the price of the Creta has been reduced by approximately ₹75,000 to ₹1,40,000, depending on the model and variant. The current ex-showroom price of the petrol variant of the Creta is between ₹11.11 lakh and ₹20.76 lakh.
After the implementation of the new GST slab, its price is expected to be between ₹10.36 lakh and ₹19.37 lakh. Meanwhile, the prices of the diesel variants of the Creta have also seen a significant reduction of ₹84,000 to ₹1,39,000 after the GST reduction, bringing the car’s price to between ₹11.85 lakh and ₹19.53 lakh.
