Global NCAP gave them a score of 34 out of 33.05 for adult occupant protection and 49 out of 45 for child occupant protection. Overall, their score is 74.72 out of 83, which is why both have received a 5-star safety rating.

Tata Nexon

In third place is the Tata Nexon, which is not far behind in terms of safety. It scored 32.22 points in adult occupant protection and 44.52 points in child occupant protection. Overall, the Nexon scored 83 out of 76.76 points, making it the second-safest SUV in India.

Maruti Victoris

Maruti’s new SUV, the Victoris, also performed exceptionally well in Global NCAP. It scored 33.72 points in adult occupant protection and 41 points in child occupant protection. The overall score was 83 out of 74.72. It has proven to be the safest Maruti SUV ever.

Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia

Both the VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia come with similar body structures and safety features. This is why they received identical scores. They received 29.71 points in adult occupant protection and 42 points in child occupant protection. The overall score was 71.71 out of 83. Both earned the title of India’s safest sedan.

Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq

Like the Virtus and Slavia, the VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq are built on the same platform. Both received 29.64 points in adult occupant protection and 42 points in child occupant protection. Thus, both received a 5-star safety rating and can be called India’s safest compact SUV.

Hyundai Verna

The Hyundai Verna became the company’s first car to receive a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. It scored 42 points in child occupant protection, which is even better than the Maruti Victoire. However, it only received 28.18 points in adult occupant protection. The overall score was 70.18 out of 83. It is the safest Hyundai car ever.

Maruti Dzire

The last car on this list is the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It is the only sub-4 meter sedan to receive a 5-star safety rating. It scored 31.24 points in adult occupant protection and 39.20 points in child occupant protection. The overall score was 70.44 out of 83.
