As soon as the festive season begins, the crowd in trains increases, and in such a situation, returning home becomes a big challenge. In view of this problem of the passengers, Indian Railways has taken a great step. From 21 September to 30 November 2025, the Railways has announced to run 150 new Puja Special trains. These trains will make a total of 2024 additional rounds, so that people can celebrate the happiness of festivals with their families without any hassle. These trains have brought a big relief especially to the passengers of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and South India.
Special arrangements for Bihar

In view of the huge demand of passengers going to Bihar, the Railways has planned to run more than 12 thousand trains. Notification of many of these trains has also been issued. East Central Railway has decided to run 14 special trains, which will pass through major stations like Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur. These trains will make a total of 588 rounds, making it easier for the people of Bihar to go home from big cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
South Central Railway is ahead
This time, South Central Railway will run the maximum number of 48 Puja special trains. These trains will start from big stations like Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Vijayawada and make a total of 684 rounds. Through these trains, rural and urban areas of South India will be connected to big cities, which will help the passengers reach home during the festivals.
Special trains in Kolkata and Mumbai, too
Eastern Railway has announced to run 24 special trains from busy stations like Kolkata, Howrah, and Sealdah, which will make 198 rounds. At the same time, Western Railway has planned to run 24 trains from cities like Mumbai, Surat, and Vadodara, which will complete 204 rounds. These trains will be especially beneficial for the passengers of North India and Gujarat.
Focus on other areas too

Southern Railway has announced to run 10 special trains from Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai, which will make 66 rounds. Apart from this, East Coast Railway will run trains from stations like Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Sambalpur. South Eastern Railway will run special trains from Ranchi and Tatanagar, North Central Railway from Prayagraj and Kanpur, South East Central Railway from Bilaspur and Raipur, and West Central Railway from Bhopal and Kota.

Railways have appealed to the passengers to book tickets in advance for traveling in these special trains. Given the heavy rush during festivals, it is wise to book early for confirmed tickets.
