Why will banks remain closed for two days?
Banks are going to remain closed on Friday, i.e. 5th September. Banks will remain closed in many cities, including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad, due to Eid-e-Milad and Thiruvonam. Apart from this, banks will remain open in other states of the country. Eid-e-Milad un-Nabi, also known as Milad-e-Sharif or Bara Wafat.

This is a very special day for the people of the Islamic religion. This day is celebrated as the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Sahib. At the same time, September 6 is the first Saturday of the month of September, on which banks will be fully open. But banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar due to Eid-e-Milad and Indrajatra.
How many days will banks remain closed this month?
September 5 (Friday): Banks will remain closed on Eid-e-Milad / Thiruvonam in many cities, including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
September 6 (Saturday): Banks will remain closed on Eid-e-Milad / Indrajatra in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar.
On 12 September (Friday), Jammu and Srinagar will be closed on the Friday after Eid-e-Milad.
On 22 September (Monday), Jaipur will be closed on account of the Navratri celebration.
23 September (Tuesday): Jammu and Srinagar will be closed on account of Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti.
29 September (Monday): Agartala, Gangtok and Kolkata will be closed on account of Maha Saptami/Durga Puja.
On 30 September (Tuesday), many cities, including Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi, will be closed on account of Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami.
