Bank Closed Today– If you are thinking of going to the bank today and doing your work, then wait a bit. Tomorrow i.e. on 4th September 2025, banks are going to be closed in some states. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that on Thursday, 4th September 2025, public and private banks will remain closed in one state of the country. This includes major banks like SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank.
This holiday has been declared due to local festivals and regional events. According to the RBI holiday list, banking services will not be available in many states on this day, so customers are advised to shift their banking work to Friday.
Why will banks remain closed today?
Banks across the country will remain open as usual tomorrow, but in Kerala all banks will remain closed on the occasion of Onam. Onam is considered to be the biggest and special festival of Kerala, which is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm and traditional customs.
4 September 2025: Banks in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala state) will remain closed on the occasion of Onam.
5 September 2025: Banks in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand , Telangana, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh will remain closed on the occasion of Eid -e-Milad / Milad-un-Nabi.
6 September 2025: Banks will be closed in Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad / Milad-un-Nabi and in Sikkim on the occasion of Indra Jatra.
7 September 2025 : Sunday Holiday.
12 September 2025: Banks in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on the next Friday of Eid-e-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi.
13 September 2025 : Second Saturday holiday.
14 September 2025 : Sunday Holiday.
21 September 2025 : Sunday Holiday.
22 September 2025: Banks in Jaipur will remain closed on the occasion of Navratri establishment.
23 September 2025: Banks in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed on the occasion of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birth anniversary.

29 September 2025: Banks in Tripura, Assam and West Bengal will remain closed on the occasion of Maha Saptami/Durga Puja.
30 September 2025: All banks in Tripura, Odisha, Assam, Manipur, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand will remain closed on the occasion of Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja.
