Maruti Victoris: Maruti Suzuki has introduced its all-new mid-size SUV Victoris in the Indian market. This SUV is available in six trims—LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O). It will be sold through the Arena dealership network. After the Grand Vitara in 2023, the Victoris becomes Maruti’s second strong contender in the competitive mid-size SUV segment. It will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, and even Maruti’s own Grand Vitara.
Exterior Design of Victoris
The new Victoris gets an updated styling language borrowed from the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara electric SUV. Upfront, it gets slender LED headlamps with a chrome strip joining them together, chunky plastic cladding, and a silver skid plate. Sides get 18-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, silver roof rails, and aggressive body cladding adding road presence. At the back, a split LED light bar and aggressive Victoris lettering finish off the design.
Interior Highlights
In the interior, the Victoris has a tech-oriented dashboard which appears distinct from that of the Grand Vitara. The cabin features a big 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a digital driver display, and a three-spoke steering wheel. The SUV is roomy enough to accommodate five passengers in comfort.
Features and Technology
Maruti has loaded the Victoris with a number of premium features. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, connected car technology, leatherette upholstery, and climate control are some of the features that it boasts of. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, 8-way powered driver seat, heads-up display, cabin air filter, and powered tailgate.
Safety Features
Safety is the Victoris’s greatest strength. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, brake assist, hill hold control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts are standard. The top trims feature a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and for the first time in any Maruti model, Level 2 ADAS. Critically, the SUV has achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP crash safety rating.
Engine and Performance Options
The Victoris offers three powertrain options. The first is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild hybrid petrol motor with 103hp. The second is the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder strong hybrid powertrain that offers 116hp. The third powertrain is a 1.5-litre petrol-CNG motor that develops 89hp. Maruti has wisely positioned the CNG tank below the body, which frees up more boot space. Gearbox choices are a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter auto for gasoline, e-CVT for the high hybrid, and 5-speed manual for the CNG version. An all-wheel drive option is on offer too. On a full tank, Victoris offers a driving range of up to 1200 km.
