SBI PO Prelims Result 2025: Lakhs of candidates who dream of becoming a Probationary Officer (PO) in State Bank of India (SBI) are currently waiting for their prelims result. When and how was the exam held?
The SBI PO Prelims exam was conducted on 4th and 5th August 2025 at examination centers across the country. This exam was of 100 marks, which included English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning sections. Negative marking was also applicable in the exam, that is, one-fourth marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. This time, more than six lakh candidates took part in the exam.
How many vacancies and how many applications
The bank received 6,57,850 applications for the SBI PO 2025 recruitment. While the number of vacancies is only 541. The prelims exam was conducted for these posts. Usually, the bank shortlists about ten times the total number of vacancies for the mains exam in the prelims result.
An easy way to check the result
To see the result, candidates have to first go to sbi.co.in. There, go to the “Career” section and click on “Current Openings”. After this, choose the option of “Probationary Officer Recruitment 2025”. Then log in by entering the registration number/roll number and date of birth or password. After this, download the result by looking at the roll number in the PDF file.
When will the Mains exam be held?
After the release of the SBI PO prelims result, the bank will announce the dates of the mains exam. The main exam is an important stage of the actual selection process. Candidates who pass from here are called for ian nterview and group exercise.

Stages of the recruitment process
SBI PO recruitment takes place in three stages. The first stage is the prelims exam, which is of a qualifying nature only. After this, the second stage is the main exam, which includes both objective and descriptive papers. Finally, the third stage is of interview and psychometric test. The final selection of the candidates is done only after passing these three stages.
