If you live in UP and want to go abroad for higher education, then there is great news for you. The Uttar Pradesh government has given a great opportunity to the students. The UP government has started a new scholarship scheme, under which students can go abroad and study. Many students want to go outside India and study, because their parents do not have that much money, but now they will get a chance to study abroad at a low cost.

UP government signed an agreement with the UK’s FCDO.

The UP government and the UK’s FCDO have signed an agreement. Under which ‘Chevening-Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Uttar Pradesh State Government Scholarship Scheme’ has been started. According to the rules made in the scheme, the tuition fees, examination fees, research fees, and living and travel expenses will be borne by the government.

Scholarship will be given every year.

Under the Chevening-Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee scheme, every year, five students will be sent to a UK university on scholarship. The government has said that this step will improve the education system of the state, and the youth will get a chance to lead at the global level. This scholarship is currently from 2025-26 to 2027-28.

The government will bear 50% of the expenses.

In the new Chevening-Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee scheme, the UP government will bear 50 per cent of the expenses while the UK government will bear the rest. This scholarship will include tuition fees, examination and research fees, living expenses and airfare to and from the UK. According to estimates, the total cost per student will be Rs 45 lakh to Rs 48 lakh (38,048-42,076 pounds sterling), out of which the UP government will pay about Rs 23 lakh, and the rest will be given by FCDO UK.

For this scholarship, you have to apply by visiting the UK website www.chevening.org/scholarship. After selecting the India section here, you have to choose the option of Chevening Bharat Ratna Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sarkar Scholarships Yojana. Although applications for the scheme have not started yet, you can keep an eye on the site.
