What is the e-Aadhaar app?

This mobile application will allow smartphone users to directly change important information related to their Aadhaar. Like corrections in name, address, and date of birth can now be done online. Its main objective is to reduce dependence on enrollment centers. With artificial intelligence and face ID technology, this app can prove to be a safe and fast solution.
Biometric update only at the enrollment center
UIDAI has made it clear that from November, Aadhaar holders will have to visit the centers only for biometric updates like fingerprint and iris scanning. Other details can be updated from the smartphone itself. This will save time and also eliminate paperwork.
Direct help from government documents
UIDAI plans to get data directly from various government sources to make the Aadhaar update simpler. This will include a birth certificate, a PAN card, a passport, a driving license, a ration card, and MNREGA records. Electricity bill details can also be added for address verification.
Launch of Aadhaar Good Governance Portal
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has recently launched the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal. This platform will help in speeding up and simplifying the process of applications related to Aadhaar authentication. This will make the Aadhaar system more transparent, efficient, and user-friendly.
Aadhaar free update deadline extended
UIDAI has extended the last date for updating Aadhaar information for free till June 14, 2025. Crores of Aadhaar holders across the country can take advantage of this.
New rules for photos in Aadhaar services
