Paytm Update: Ever since online transactions started in India, people have forgotten to keep cash in their pockets. Online payments are made while shopping from small shops to big showrooms. Online payments are being given priority in the new generation. Everyone has UPI apps like Google Pay, Phone Pay, Paytm on their mobile.
Not only this, a notification is being sent by Google Play, which has created confusion among people. It is being said in this notification that Paytm UPI will not be able to work from 31 August 2025.
People are also seen talking about different things on social media. Many types of fake messages are also going viral. Seeing the viral messages, the company itself has had to come out in front of the people. Will Paytm really be closed, known in the new?.

Will Paytm really be shut down?
Paytm informed that this change will only apply to those users who use the @paytm handle for recurring payments such as YouTube Premium, Google One storage or subscription. It is not going to have any effect on normal users.

The affected users will need to replace the old @paytm handle with a new handle such as @pthdfc, @ptaxis, @ptyes or @ptsbi. For example, if your UPI ID is rakesh@paytm, then now it can be rakesh@pthdfc or rakesh@ptsbi.
What should those with @paytm handle?
You will have to switch to the new Paytm UPI ID linked to the bank, such as @pthdfc, @ptaxis, @ptyes or @ptsbi. After this, there will be a need to make payments through other UPI platforms like Google Pay or PhonePe. Then, for frequent payments, a debit or credit card will also have to be used.
What did the company chief say?
Paytm chief Vijay Shekhar Sharma assured customers that their money transactions will continue without any problem. Along with this, this change from 31 August will be only a part of the technical process. This change is being implemented after the approval of NPCI. Along with this, Paytm has been allowed as a third-party application provider. Under this, new UPI handles have been launched.
