Galaxy M9: Chinese automaker Geely has succeeded in making headlines even before its new flagship SUV was launched. The Galaxy M9 PHEV has achieved more than 40,000 pre-bookings within a span of just 24 hours. This reaction indicates the massive craze among consumers and speaks volumes about the brand’s strong market presence. Priced at 193,800 yuan to 258,800 yuan, this plug-in hybrid SUV is being viewed as a premium family car that offers comfort and efficiency.
Starship-Inspired Design
The Galaxy M9 design is borrowed from the Galaxy Starship concept, which debuted at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. Some of the concepts have been transferred to this production vehicle. The front end is dominated by a Brilliant Galaxy LED light bar that joins the headlamps and gives the SUV a futuristic look. A LiDAR sensor is also integrated to augment driving assistance and safety features.
Dimensions and Road Presence
Size-wise, the Galaxy M9 is 5,205 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall. Its wheelbase is 3,030 mm, which is only 4 mm less than the Mercedes-Benz GLS. These figures endow it with a dominant road presence. The SUV has a three-row 2+2+2 seating arrangement inside. Power-adjustable seats, heat across the board, and ventilation with massage function in rows one and two make it a family SUV driven by luxury.
Premium Interior Comforts
The rear passengers are treated to premium features with the aim of providing maximum comfort. A 17.3-inch 3K screen is fixed on the roof, providing a view-atmosphere experience. On top of that, a folding table and a 9.1-litre fridge are added, making it easy to travel for long periods. Such features place the Galaxy M9 as an SUV with luxury charm that is perfect for a family.
Spacious Storage Options
The SUV is also very practical. With all seats occupied, it provides 328 litres of boot space. When the second and third rows are folded back, the boot space increases enormous to 2,171 litres. This makes it perfect for day-to-day use as well as long-distance road trips with heavy loads.
