Hyundai Creta: Purchasing a new vehicle during Diwali can be easier on your wallet. The government is mulling a GST cut on cars, which can reduce the prices of in-demand Hyundai products like Creta, Venue, and Exter. If the GST comes down from 28% to 18%, buyers can enjoy direct savings of thousands of rupees. This will make buying a car more convenient, particularly for middle-class households.

How GST Affects Car Prices

Currently, cars are levied 28% GST and 1% cess. This implies a total of 29% tax is imposed on the ex-factory price. For instance, if a car is priced at ₹5 lakh, the taxed final price increases to approximately ₹6.45 lakh. With a reduction to 18% GST and 1% cess, the overall tax would fall to 19%. Here, the same car would be priced about ₹5.90 lakh. That’s a saving of almost ₹55,000 for consumers.

Hyundai Car Savings

Hyundai customers can look forward to substantial savings if GST is cut. While the Grand i10 Nios, available at an ex-showroom price of ₹5,98,300 currently, might get cheaper by almost ₹59,830. Likewise, the Hyundai Exter with a price tag of ₹5,99,900 could provide savings of almost ₹59,990 following reductions in taxation.

Hyundai Venue

The Hyundai Venue, the top-selling compact SUV, has an ex-showroom price of ₹7,94,100. With tax at 29%, the load is ₹2,30,288. When tax comes down to 19%, this amount comes down to ₹1,50,879. Consumers would save nearly ₹79,409, and Venue would be an even more dominant choice in its segment.

Hyundai Creta

Creta is the highest-selling SUV in India and among Hyundai’s bestsellers. Its base ex-showroom price is ₹11,10,900. Currently, tax adds around ₹3,22,161. With GST reduced, this becomes ₹2,11,071. Buyers can expect a direct saving of nearly ₹1,11,090 on Creta, which is a major attraction for SUV buyers.

Hyundai Verna and i20

The Verna and i20 also demonstrate significant savings. The Verna, which is currently priced at ₹11,07,400, would be cheaper by approximately ₹1,10,740 in the event that GST decreases. The i20, which starts at ₹7,50,900, could cut by almost ₹75,089. Both of these vehicles would become more attractive to consumers seeking style and performance at reduced expenses.

Larger Models Such as Alcazar and Tucson

Hyundai’s larger SUVs also benefit heavily. Alcazar, priced at ₹14,99,000, may bring buyers savings of nearly ₹1,49,899. The Tucson, with a current price of ₹29,26,800, could get cheaper by an impressive ₹2,92,679 if GST falls. Such large cuts highlight how impactful this policy change could be.
