The Conjuring Exclusive First Look: If you’re a horror fan and the stories of Ed and Lorraine Warren have kept you up at night, get ready! The ninth film in The Conjuring Universe, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, is hitting theatres. This might not just be another horror movie, but the end of an era.
See you, Ed and Lorraine again!
Once again, our favourite paranormal investigator duo, Ed and Lorraine Warren, return to solve their last case. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson have portrayed these characters so well that viewers have started mistaking them for the real-life Warrens. The film’s producers, James Wan and Peter Safran, created this universe and produced it again this time.
This time around, some new faces are also joining the story. Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy are playing Ed and Lorraine’s daughter, Judy Warren, and her boyfriend, Tony Spera. Also, Steve Coulter is returning as Father Gordon. Apart from them, actors like Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Keala Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsden, John Brotherton and Shannon Cooke are also involved in this scary journey.
Same director, new fear
The film is directed by Michael Chavez, who has previously directed films of the Conjuring Universe. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan wrote the film’s story, and Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick prepared the screenplay. This team has ensured that the film keeps you engaged, never letting you move from your seat.
Eli Bourne handles the cinematography of the film, and the music is composed by Benjamin Walfish, whose background score will make every scene even more terrifying.
The Conjuring: Last Rites is presented by New Line Cinema and will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film will be released in North America on September 5, 2025, and internationally starting September 3, 2025, in theatres and IMAX only.
