Solar Panel on Railway Track- Indian Railways takes big innitiative. Indian Railways is not only taking continuous steps for the safety and convenience of passengers, on the other hand, it is also adopting new methods for saving electricity and protecting the environment. In this sequence, the Railways has achieved a major achievement. Giving information in a social media post by the Ministry of Railways, it has been told that Banaras Locomotive Works has installed India’s first 70 meter long removable solar panel system (Solar Panel System On Track) between the railway tracks.

Indian Railways has informed about this historic achievement through a post on the social media platform X (earlier Twitter) on behalf of the Ministry of Railways . The post states that Banaras Locomotive Works of Varanasi has installed India’s first 70 meter long removable solar panel system between the tracks on the railway track. It has 28 Sola Panels installed, which have a capacity of 15 kilowatts peak.

Saving electricity and protecting the environment

The Railway Ministry has termed this step of Indian Railways as a milestone in the direction of green and sustainable rail transport. According to the report released in this regard, this initiative of the Railways will not only save electricity and reduce energy costs, but will also prove to be helpful in protecting the environment.

The most important thing is that these solar panels installed between the railway tracks can be easily removed and reinstalled. Actually, maintenance work is often carried out on the railway tracks, in such a situation, the workers working there can easily take out these removable solar panels and put them back on the track after the work is over.

Along with sharing the information about installing solar panel system on the track, many pictures have also been shared by the Railway Ministry, in which it can be seen that Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) has installed solar panels on the stones between the railway tracks. In another picture, the engine of the train is also seen passing over them. Certainly, this step of the railway is inspiring other sectors to move towards green and clean energy.
