Bank Holiday – There is a major update for Bank customers. Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI is called the bank of banks. All the banks of the country work according to the rules of RBI. The decision on which days the bank will remain closed is also taken by RBI. RBI already releases the list of bank holidays, which contains information about bank holidays according to different states. Tomorrow is 19th August 2025.

19 August Bank Holiday
According to the RBI list, tomorrow i.e. on 19th August, banks will remain closed in only one state of the country. This state is Tripura. Apart from Tripura, banks will remain open in all the states of the country. RBI has declared a bank holiday in Tripura on August 19 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore had contributed a lot to education, administration and infrastructure in Tripura. In such a situation, his birth anniversary is celebrated on his birthday to pay respect and tribute to him.
Remaining Bank Holidays in August 2025
Apart from the August 19 holiday in Tripura, banks will remain closed on a few other days this week and at the end of the month:
August 23 (fourth Saturday): Banks will remain closed across the country due to the fourth Saturday of the month.
24 August (Sunday): Sunday weekly holiday.
August 25 (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Assam on the occasion of Srimanta Sankardev’s death anniversary.
August 27 (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in many states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Odisha, Hyderabad, Goa and Tamil Nadu due to Ganesh Chaturthi.
Let us tell you that on bank holidays, you can use facilities like net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM normally, but services like check clearing and draft making are closed due to bank closure. In such a situation, you cannot go to the bank on bank holidays and do any of your work.
