New Delhi: After the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar from the post of Vice President, political parties have started brainstorming. The NDA candidate has been announced by the BJP. CP Radhakrishnan will be the Vice Presidential candidate from NDA. Currently, he is the Governor of Maharashtra. BJP National President JP Nadda has announced his name.

According to JP Nadda, the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board was called to finalise the name of the Vice Presidential candidate. After this, everyone’s eyes are now on the candidate of the India Alliance. Soon, the Vice Presidential candidate can be announced by the India Alliance.

Support will also be sought from the opposition.

BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda said that support will also be sought from the opposition for the election of the post of Vice President. He said that talks have to be held with the opposition in the election. So that the candidate can be selected unanimously. Nadda said that as we had said earlier, we have been in constant touch with them. Our senior leaders had met them earlier and will remain in touch in future as well.

He further said that the BJP-led NDA has to make CP Radhakrishnan the candidate for the post of Vice President. All the allies have supported this decision. As soon as CP Radhakrishnan’s name was announced, the round of congratulations started.

PM Narendra Modi congratulated

PM Narendra Modi congratulated CP Radhakrishnan as soon as he was declared the candidate for the post of Vice President. While congratulating, he wrote that in his long public life, CP Radhakrishnan has worked to create a special identity with his dedication, humility and intelligence.

While holding various positions, he always focused on community service and empowering marginalised people. He has done extensive work at the grassroots level in Tamil Nadu. He further wrote that I am happy that the NDA family has decided to make him the Vice Presidential candidate of our alliance.

Who is Radhakrishnan?

For information, let us tell you that Chandrapuram Ponnuswamy Radhakrishnan, born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, has been a senior leader of the BJP. Currently, he is serving as the Governor of Maharashtra. Radhakrishnan started his political career with RSS and Jansangh. He was elected as Lok Sabha MP from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999. He was the President of Tamil Nadu from 2003 to 2006.
