Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant shared an old video on the 79th Independence Day after India won the Champions Trophy. He shared this video for the first time. In the video, India captain Rohit Sharma and the whole dressing room celebrate. India won the Champions Trophy by beating New Zealand in Dubai. New Zealand scored 251 runs for 7 wickets. India chased the target and scored 254 runs for 6 wickets in 49 overs.

While hitting the winning run, Pant turned on his camera and showed the dressing room. During the celebration at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pant jokingly asked Rohit if he wanted to retire from ODIs. Rohit smiled and said he will not retire. He said he will play ODIs because he retired from T20s after winning the T20 World Cup last year. Rohit and Virat Kohli retired from T20s after their historic win over South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup final in Barbados.

Rohit Sharma About Retirement

Rohit said, “What? Should I retire? I cannot retire after every win.” In the video, Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir hug each other warmly. After showing the dressing room’s reaction, Pant went to the field. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja were already celebrating.

Pant did not play a single match during the Champions Trophy. But he was very happy with India’s win. After six months, he shared the video of that match on social media on Independence Day.
