Why is the ration card e-KYC necessary

The government has made e-KYC mandatory to prevent cases of fraud and ensure that only the right and eligible people get facilities like free ration. E-KYC will make it easier to identify fake beneficiaries. This will ensure that only those people get a ration who are rightfully entitled to it. A ration card is used not only for getting ration, but also as an identity card. It is used from an Aadhar card to making a PAN card.

How to do Ration Card e-KYC from home using a phone

Now you do not need to go anywhere for e-KYC. You can complete this process from your phone itself.

Install the app named ‘Mera eKYC’ and ‘Aadhaar FaceRD’ on your mobile.

Open the ‘Mera eKYC’ app and fill in your location and other necessary information.

Now enter your Aadhaar number, captcha code, and OTP received on mobile.

Your Aadhaar-related information will appear on the screen. Now you have to choose the option of ‘Face e-KYC’.

The camera of the app will turn on. Take your picture and click on the ‘Submit’ button.

This way, your e-KYC process will be completed.

E-KYC is necessary for every member of the ration card

It is very important to note that this process has to be completed by every member included in the ration card. That is, all the members will have to get e-KYC done separately. If any member does not have e-KYC, their name will be removed from the card.
