Maruti Fronx Hybrid
Maruti Suzuki has taken a big step in hybrid technology and has developed its own strong hybrid system. It will start with the Fronx Hybrid in 2026, after which this technology will also be seen in the new Baleno and a sub-4 meter MPV.

However, the new Z12E, a 3-cylinder petrol engine will work with a generator, electric motor and a 1.5-2kWh battery pack. The company claims to give a great mileage of around 35 km/liter. At the same time, its price can be cheaper than Toyota’s hybrid system, which will make it accessible to more customers.
Mahindra XUV 3XO Hybrid
Mahindra is also joining the race of hybrid vehicles. Where the company is preparing to launch its XUV 3XO compact SUV in a hybrid version, which is being developed under Project S226.

The 1.2L turbo petrol engine will be paired with an electric motor. The design looks similar to the ICE version, but some EV-specific elements can be added. Mahindra is also working on a range extender hybrid system for its INGLO architecture SUVs (M130 and M330).
