Honor 400 Smart 5G: Honor had a grand launch of its 400 series in May 2025, in which Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro were introduced in the market. Now a new member is going to join this family – Honor 400 Smart 5G. This variant was recently spotted on the website of a telecom operator in Europe, after which its specifications have been revealed to a considerable extent. This phone basically seems to be designed for those users who want a budget-friendly device but do not want to compromise on battery life.

The design of Honor 400 Smart 5G will be simple and practical, but from the inside it seems quite powerful for its segment. It features a large 6.77-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which will make scrolling and gaming quite smooth. The peak brightness is said to go up to 700 nits, which is good for daily outdoor use. For processing, there is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, which is a mid-range chip but performs quite well in efficiency and 5G connectivity.

The biggest highlight of this phone is its massive 6,500mAh battery pack. It can easily last for more than a day, even if you are a heavy user. The charging speed will be 35W wired, which is not as fast as high-end phones, but looking at the battery size it seems quite balanced. The camera setup has been kept simple – a 50MP main sensor with a 2MP depth sensor at the back, and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. Obviously, this is not made for photography lovers, but is perfect for basic clicks and video calls.

Talking about the software, it will run on Android 15 along with Honor’s own MagicOS 9.0, and the company says that it will get security patches for 5 years. For durability, the phone has been given IP64 dust and water resistance rating, along with SGS-certified drop and crush resistance, which makes it slightly rugged.

Compared to the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro, it is less powerful than them. The Honor 400 has Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and the Pro model has Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is more suitable for performance lovers. The display is also more premium in them, with AMOLED panel and higher resolution. The 400 and 400 Pro are way ahead in the camera segment too, where you get the option of 200MP sensors and telephoto lenses. Charging speed also goes up to 100W there.

But, in the price segment where Honor 400 Smart 5G is going to be launched, it is difficult to find such a combination of big battery, decent performance and long-term software support. This phone is perfect for those users who want a reliable, long-lasting device and don’t want to spend extra money for flagship features.
