Design
New Bolero Neo will retain its boxy and muscular stance. The spy images clearly show that it will get circular headlamps, vertical tail lamps and a full-size spare wheel (mounted on the tailgate). However, these are parts of test units and there may be some changes in the final production version.
The grille features Mahindra’s signature vertical slats and the brand logo at the centre. The side profile reminds one of the Land Rover Defender with its flat panels and squared-off wheel arches.
Interior and Features
On the inside, the new Bolero Neo will be quite modern and feature-packed. Expect features like a touchscreen infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support), multiple USB ports, automatic climate control and cruise control.
This SUV will not be weak in terms of safety either. Features like traction control, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and 6 airbags will make it a strong contender in the segment.
Platform
New generation Bolero Neo will be built on Mahindra’s new New Flexible Architecture (NFA) platform. This monocoque platform is designed to reduce weight and is also ready for hybrid and electric powertrains.
It has set a target of producing 1.2 lakh cars on this platform which will be manufactured at the Chakan plant. The company also aims to meet the CAFE 3 fuel efficiency regulations coming in 2027.
