Asia Cup 2025 will start on September 9. A big match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for September 14. However, there is a lot of opposition to this match. There are rumours that the match may be cancelled. Recently, the Indian team did not play against Pakistan in the WCL either. Because of this, fans are worried that something similar might happen in the Asia Cup 2025.
The tournament will be held in the UAE. Emirates Cricket Board COO Subhan Ahmed has assured that despite recent tensions, India and Pakistan will play against each other in the Asia Cup 2025. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, the Indian champion team refused to play against the Pakistani champion team in two matches of the World Championship of Legends (WCL).
About the India-Pakistan Match
Ahmed said to the media, “I can’t promise for sure, but there is no chance that India and Pakistan will not play. Asia Cup is not like private tournaments such as the World Championship of Legends, where India did not play Pakistan in the league and semi-final.”
The final match will be on September 28. Asia Cup 2025 will be played in T20 format. It will be held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 9 to 28. Dubai will have 11 matches, including the final. Abu Dhabi will have 8 matches. India will play against UAE and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 10 and 14.
India-Pakistan Possible Matches and Schedule
India will play against Oman on September 19 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. India and Pakistan can meet again in the Super-4 stage. If both teams reach the final, they can play against each other three times in the Asia Cup.
The two countries have tense relations because of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in April. So, there are questions about the India-Pakistan match.
