Honor Play 70 Plus: Honor is set to launch a new phone in the Play series, which will succeed the Honor Play 60 Plus launched in June 2024. A mysterious phone model, LOG-AN00, also approved by China’s TENAA authority, is widely thought to be the new Honor Play 70 Plus. While some specs of the hardware had already leaked, the design was unknown until today. Due to a new image posted by Chinese tipster Bald Panda, we now have a first look at what the Play 70 Plus could look like.

Visual Design and Color Variants

Based on the leaked render, the Honor Play 70 Plus will be available in four classy colors: blue, black, white, and pink. The design of the back panel, particularly the placement of cameras and overall finish, does mirror quite closely the Vivo V50 series, which bodes well for a minimal and elegant look. The camera module on the rear seems to sink into the panel, giving the phone a contemporary, smooth look.

Expected Hardware Specifications

The certification listing from TENAA confirms that the phone will measure 8.39mm in thickness and weigh 207 grams. At the front, it is likely to include a huge 6.77-inch HD+ LCD screen, while the front camera duty will be performed by a humble 5-megapixel snapper. The primary rear camera is likely to include a 50-megapixel sensor, which suggests acceptable camera performance.

Performance and Internal Configuration

Play 70 Plus has been reported to carry 8GB or 12GB of RAM, accompanied by storage capacities of 256GB and 512GB. The phone is said to be driven by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor and feature a large 7,000mAh battery. With 45W fast charging support, the phone may provide long usage periods with minimal recharge times. Fingerprint scanning would be provided by a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

More Features and Competition

The leak indicates more benefits, such as stereo speakers with a reported 400% volume increase, NFC, and an IP65-rated body that is dust and water resistant. These features make the Honor Play 70 Plus a potential rival to the Redmi 15 5G, which is based on the same chipset.

Honor’s Global Strategy and Rebranding Plans

A latest report by XpertPick indicates that Honor is gearing up to launch the Honor 400 Smart and Honor X7d worldwide. The two phones are said to have the same model number, LOG-NX1, as the Play 70 Plus. This would mean that the Play 70 Plus will only be available in China, with global markets getting it under a different name.
