Like every month, many rules are going to change in August. LPG prices have been reduced from August 1, while some rules related to UPI have also changed. The new rule for the FASTag annual pass will come into effect from August 15. All these changes will impact people’s pockets. Let’s find out what is changing from this month.

First Change – LPG Commercial Cylinder Price Cut

Oil companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders by ₹33.50 across India. This new price started from August 1. But there is no change in the price of the domestic LPG cylinder. Now, the commercial gas cylinder costs ₹1631.50 in Delhi, ₹1734.50 in Kolkata, ₹1582.50 in Mumbai, and ₹1789 in Chennai.

Second Change – UPI Rules Changed

From August 1, new rules for UPI have started. If you use Paytm, PhonePe, GPay or any other UPI app, some limits have been added. Now, balance check and status update will have limits. These changes are made by NPCI to give better service.

Third Change – SBI Credit Card Insurance Stopped

SBI is going to stop the free air accident insurance on some co-branded credit cards from August 11. Earlier, SBI gave insurance of ₹1 crore or ₹50 lakh on cards from UCO Bank, Central Bank, PSB, Karur Vysya Bank, Allahabad Bank, and some ELITE and PRIME cards. This service will now stop.

Fourth Change – FASTag Annual Pass from August 15

From August 15, 2025, a new FASTag annual pass will start for private vehicles. With this pass, you can take 200 free toll trips in one year. The cost of the pass will be ₹3000. The goal is to make travel easy and smooth.

Fifth Change – PNB KYC Update Needed

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has told its customers to update KYC before August 8, 2025. If you do not update your KYC, your bank account may stop working. This is as per RBI rules.

Sixth Change – ATF Price Changed

From August 1, the price of aviation fuel (ATF) has changed. Now, the ATF price is ₹92,021.93 per kilolitre in Delhi, ₹95,164.90 in Kolkata, ₹86,077.14 in Mumbai, and ₹95,512.26 in Chennai. This may also change air ticket prices.

Seventh Change – Bank Holidays in August

Banks will be closed for 15 days in August. This includes Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays. Banks in different states will also be closed on some festival days.
