Mahindra: Mahindra is preparing for a grand exposé this Independence Day. The automaker will launch several concept cars along with a brand-new platform designed to suit upcoming SUVs. The highly awaited event, christened Freedom_NU, has been planned in Mumbai on August 15, 2025. It promises to unlock Mahindra’s clear electric mobility direction as well as aggressive SUV designs.
Vision SXT
Mahindra unveils the Vision SXT, a developed version of its Global Pik Up concept. Initially seen in South Africa, the new look now takes inspiration from the Scorpio N. This indicates a more contemporary, hardened appearance and perhaps sophisticated features for future pickup models. The SXT appears to be targeted towards a global market.
Vision S
The Vision S concept is likely to suggest an all-electric version of the best-selling Scorpio N. A teaser has already unveiled some interesting design refinements. These are a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, a sideways-opening rear door, and a distinctive trapezoidal grab handle. Tail lamps are now positioned lower into the bumper zone, which is likely to be a new design direction for Mahindra’s electric SUV range.
Near-Production Electric Thar
One of the most anticipated models to arrive is the electric Thar concept. Mahindra is likely to introduce a near-production variant that remains true to the original in shape and dimensions. Although the launch schedule has not been announced, Mahindra’s plan to electrify the Thar seems real, and a market launch could take place within two years.
Vision X
Mahindra will also feature the Vision X, a concept that foreshadows the next XEV 7e. The electric SUV is based on the XUV.e8 and has already been seen testing. It takes a great deal of cues from the XUV700 but adds a completely electric flavor. The Vision X could hold some hints to Mahindra’s wider EV plan in the midsize SUV segment.
Next-Gen Bolero Teasers Expected
Though not officially announced for the Freedom_NU event, teasers for the new-generation Mahindra Bolero may be unveiled. The new version has been spotted test driving under thick camouflage in various regions. The new Bolero promises to maintain its rugged nature while challenging the midsize SUVs with a rugged body and aggressive pricing.
