With digital transactions and identity fraud increasing, checking Aadhaar cards has become very important. To improve security, UIDAI has updated the Aadhaar card with a new feature. The biggest change is the new secure QR code. This QR code has the cardholder’s personal details and photo.

In view of rising cyber frauds, UIDAI has added this secure QR code to help stop fake Aadhaar card scams. It helps in checking if an Aadhaar card is real or fake. Know how to use this feature and why it is important for your safety.

How to Stay Safe from Aadhaar Fraud

Today, many people use digital money and services. Because of this, the risk of fraud is going up. Aadhaar card is used in many places, so it must be safe. UIDAI has added a new safety feature to Aadhaar. Now, every Aadhaar card — e-Aadhaar, mAadhaar, or PVC — has a QR code. This QR code helps to check if the Aadhaar card is real or fake.

What is QR Code and How to Use It

This QR code has your name, date of birth, gender, photo, address, mobile number, and email. It also has a digital sign from UIDAI. This shows that the card is real. If someone makes a fake card, the QR code will not have this sign. When you scan it, it will show a message like “QR Code not verified.”

To check the card, download the “Aadhaar QR Scanner” or “mAadhaar” app on your phone. Open the app and scan the QR code on the Aadhaar card. If the card is real, you will see the name, photo, and other details. If it is fake, it will show “QR Code not verified.”

Why This is Important

Aadhaar card is used in banks, for SIM cards, jobs, and house rent. This QR code helps you check the card without using OTP or the internet. It helps stop fake Aadhaar fraud and keeps your identity safe.
