Hero Mavrick 440 Review : If you are after a really suave bike that is powerful and comfortable for city rides and weekend outings, you might just have found it in the Hero Mavrick 440. The best premium segment bike from Hero, launched in early 2024, is targeted at riders who appreciate road presence, performance, and value for money. Did it actually live up to the hype? Let’s find out.
Striking Bold Design and Road View
Presence is felt with a big petrol tank, chunky tyres, and an LED headlamp meant to come to life with serrated aggression-modern-retro roadster appeal: This bike has it in spades! Coming in many color options-a diamond cut on the alloy wheels and connectivity would have complemented the top variants well.

Engine and Performance
Powering the Mavrick 440 is a 440 cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine, putting out about 27 bhp and 36 Nm of torque. This engine is borrowed from Harley Davidson X440, which was designed by Hero in collaboration with Harley. Power delivery is silky smooth, especially in the low- to mid-revs, just what is required to blast through city traffic and cruise down the highways. The 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch makes for light and positive gear shifts.
Riding Comfort and Handling
The riding stance is upright and relaxed. At 803 mm, the seat height is destined for the average racer and does come well-cushioned for those long-hauls. The suspension is well-calibrated for that gives you a cushy ride in the city but being confident out on the highway. Dual-channel ABS works great with front and rear disc brakes to empower the riders with confidence while braking.

Features and Mileage
The Mavrick has a fully digital LCD display that connects to your Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, and USB charging. While some may expect a TFT display at this price point, the LCD, while on the simpler end, still delivers functionality. Now, looking at mileage: The bike gives approx 30-35 kmpl, which is good for a 440cc engine, giving a decent touring range from its 13.5-litre tank.
The Hero Mavrick 440 is another one of those all-rounders: A strong performer in the department of riding comfort and aesthetics. On one side, with pricing starting from about ₹1.99 lakh(ex-showroom), it goes under the radar of competitors like Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350, while on the other side, giving updates that are well and truly needed. A great entry into the premium segment by Hero and a very worthy option for anyone looking to upgrade from a 150cc or 200cc bike.
