These cars are not only better for the environment but will also give more mileage than petrol and diesel. So let’s know about these hybrid SUVs in detail.
1. New-generation Kia Seltos Hybrid
Kia Seltos is already a hit SUV in India, and its new hybrid version is going to be launched in the first half of 2026. In this new model, Kia will introduce its hybrid technology in the Indian market.
Let us tell you that this SUV will be given a strong hybrid setup with a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine which will give much better mileage than the petrol version. However, the hybrid variant may be available only in the top-end trims.
2. Honda Elevate Hybrid
Honda Elevate was launched in India in September 2023 but now its hybrid version is going to come in the second half of 2026. This SUV will use hybrid technology with a 1.5L petrol engine just like the Honda City Hybrid.
Honda’s hybrid technology is already considered very reliable and efficient, so the Elevate hybrid can also make a splash in the market with excellent performance and mileage.
3. New-generation Hyundai Creta Hybrid
Hyundai Creta is one of the best-selling SUVs in India, and its new hybrid version will be launched in 2027. This will be the first Hyundai car to bring strong hybrid technology to India.
It will be given an electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack with a 1.5L petrol engine. Due to BS7 emission norms, the diesel engine of Creta can be discontinued but the hybrid version will make up for it.
4. Mahindra XUV 9e Hybrid
The Mahindra XUV 9e was first introduced as a full electric SUV but now its hybrid version is also going to come. It will be given a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor which can work together or separately.
This hybrid setup of Mahindra will be based on the INGLO platform and is expected to be launched in the second half of 2027.
