Kia India has delivered a surprise in the Indian market. While everyone expected Seltos and Sonet to lead, it’s Kia Carens that took the top spot in sales. In June 2025, the company sold 7,921 units of Carens. Compared to 5,154 units sold in June 2024, this is a big jump of 54 percent. The recent update in Carens has clearly worked. Buyers seem more interested in the new features and value the car offers.
Kia Sonet
Kia Sonet, the previous sales leader, is now in the second position. Sonet sales totaled 6,658 units in June 2025. It is a significant decrease from the sales of 9,816 units in June 2024. The fall is about 32 percent. Buyer interest is dwindling slowly even when backed by features and popularity. Carens appears to be catching their eye.
Seltos
Kia Seltos, Kia’s other powerhouse name, is currently in the third position in the firm’s sales chart. During June 2025, Seltos sold 5,225 units. In June 2024 a year ago, this figure stood at 6,306 units. That translates into a 17 percent decline in the sales of Seltos. Although still a favorite SUV, altered market conditions and increased competition may be influencing its rank.
Kia Syros
Kia Syros is a new brand in the Indian market. It has already reached the fourth position in Kia’s monthly sales. In June 2025, 774 Syros units were sold. This is a good beginning keeping in view that this car has not even served one year in the market. It indicates that there’s increased interest in newer models of Kia as well.
Kia Carnival
Kia Carnival improved in June 2025. The manufacturer dispatched 774 units of this luxury MPV. The reason why this figure is noteworthy is that in June 2024, Carnival had zero sales. Obviously, demand for the Carnival is increasing once again, perhaps because of upgrades or increased demand in the luxury category.
Coming Hybrid Seltos
Kia is also cooking up something big on the Seltos. The manufacturer is preparing to launch a hybrid variant of this SUV. The new car will reportedly be offered with Kia’s current 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrol motors coupled with a hybrid system. The vehicle may also provide all-wheel drive and promise up to 20 km per litre fuel efficiency. This launch may assist Seltos in reclaiming its position in the sales battle.
